Pray Without Ceasing

This past pday we played frisbee! I love having dedicated time each day to study the gospel. Started teaching Karel, the son of a less active who is returning to church. It felt like we were teaching an angel. He accepted a baptismal date! He began reading the Book of Mormon and even took it with him to school. We went searching for a family whose daughter passed away recently. We didn`t find the house, but Chileans have open-casket viewings in their house that last about four days when someone dies. There are Russian Olive trees in Chile and they`re in bloom! While visiting a less active, a little boy brought me objects from around the house to learn how to say it in English and then he picked me a flower. I love the little kids :) We brought a family of investigators to a ward activity with traditional dances of South America and gave them a tour of the chapel and the baptismal font. Contacted a group of girls picking nisperros, a yellow apricot-like fruit, and they gave us some to try. Don`t spend your time on things of this world because you won`t be taking them with you to heaven. Time is a precious gift God is giving you each day, so spend it building your relationships, testimony, knowledge, and things of eternal worth. We talked with two atheists this week and testified that God exists. You are evidence of Him because you are part of His creation and are created in His image. He gave us the Earth, families, temples, scriptures, prophets. Through prayer, we can know all things by the power of the Holy Ghost. Ignacio, one of our investigators, participated in the Primary Program during Sacrament Meeting :) After a lesson with Alexander and Maria Baxman Guzman, they showed us their house they remodeled themselves and furniture they handcrafted. I like doing that kind of stuff and working with my hands. Then they shared "once" with us: herbal tea with mint leaves and avocado on homemade bread. The people are very giving, even when they have little. You don`t need much to be happy, just love at home.

All Creatures Great and Small

We went to the zoo in Quilpue for our pday last week. I loved being surrounded by the nature and wildlife. God`s creations are miraculous. Climbed on top of a jungle gym after :) God loves us so much that He allows us to choose if we return to Him or not. All things belong to God except your will, that which only you can give. Had my first exchanges with one of our sister training leaders Hermana Lewis and we stayed in our sector. When we taught a family that they can be sealed for eternity in the temple, they were thrilled by this new news. I`m so grateful for the temple ordenances and my eternal family. We talked about the importance of the Sacrament with a less active. It is so sacred. We need to renew our covenants every week so we are prepared to meet God.

Live the Example

(Our p-day was changed to Wednesday only for this week.) After teaching a reference named Andrea for the first time, we invited her to pray about baptism, and she told us she already knew it was true and wants to live with her kids for eternity. The Book of Mormon is an additional evidence of God`s love. By reading it, you come to know Jesus and Heavenly Father personally. If you`re not reading it every day, you`re putting yourself in danger. We talked with a man on the street that didn`t believe there are apostles today like there was in Bible times. I`m grateful for the knowledge that God loves all His children and is unchanging, and Christ continues to direct His church. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is without flaw. Every aspect of God`s Plan is perfect. It is the recipe for happiness, blessings, and exaltation.

Jump for Joy

Traveled to Achupallas for my first zone conference. I loved it!
Zone Conference

Hermana Tabaque and Hermana Jerman
We had family home evening with a recent convert and played with fire. We lit alcohol gel on fire and held it in our hands. After, we shared Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-8 with her and talked about how God gives us no trial we cannot handle. He knows us individually and better than we know ourselves. He knows our worries, desires, and needs. He is a loving God. Just take your faith and keep at it. Katya had her baptism! Hermana Tabaque and I had a jolly good time cleaning out the font with lots of bubbles and then filling it up. Katya`s brother baptized her. When she rose up from the water, she began crying and hugged us. She told us she suddenly felt so clean and free from guilt and happy.   On Sunday she was confirmed a member, received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and shared her testimony. We felt prompted to stop by for two of our investigators, Javiera and Ignacio, and their less active mom on our way to church, and they decided to come! Fasting with purpose and faith always brings blessings!

Life is a Good Hard

Had our first lesson with two young siblings who want to be baptized! Ate horse meat and learned to eat the skins of lemons and oranges. Trying new things is super fun, haha. I love to focus my thoughts on gospel doctrine throughout the day because it helps me keep the Spirit. A member shared with us her poems she wrote about walnuts and brains. While contacting one night, the Holy Ghost guided us to a young mother who allowed us in her home, so we could share about temples and eternal families. General Conference filled my soul to the brim and beyond! :) While the members watched it in the chapel, we listened to it in English in another room with other missionaries. I feel so much gratitude for a living prophet to guide us in our day. 3 Nephi 18:32 talks about those wandering from the path. It says the Lord will heal them, but we must do our part by continuing to minister to them and loving them. In the Lord, there are no lost causes.
